Terms of Service

Creating an account, accepting a household invitation, or completing a subscription — through the web or the App Store — each count as agreeing to these Terms. If you're accepting on behalf of your household, you're confirming you have the authority to do so.

Lakeday is a shared household calendar, task list, meal planner, and grocery list, available on the web and as iOS and Android apps, plus an optional wall/tablet display mode. Our pricing page describes the Service as currently offered — it's marketing information, not a contractual guarantee that every listed feature will always be available exactly as described. We may add, change, or retire individual features as the product evolves, and we'll use reasonable efforts to tell you about a change that removes something you rely on.

You must be at least 18 years old to create a Lakeday account, accept a household invitation, or subscribe. Lakeday doesn't permit anyone under 18 to hold their own account — a household's calendar can include a child's activities, but only as entered by the adult who manages that account.

The Service is offered to households located in the United States. We don't currently support or represent that the Service is appropriate for use outside the United States.

A household has one primary member, who has sole authority to: invite new members and remove existing ones, manage billing (choosing, changing, or canceling the subscription), export the household's calendar, and delete the entire household and every member's account. Additional members join by invitation or invitation code and share full access to the household's calendar, tasks, meals, and grocery list, subject to any “private” marking on an individual item.

You're responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for activity that happens under your account. Tell us right away at the address in Section 17 if you suspect unauthorized access.

Lakeday is a paid subscription, currently $10/month or $100/year per household — one price regardless of how many people or devices are in that household, on both the web and iOS.

Web subscriptions (Stripe)

Billed by Stripe to the card on file. A first-time web subscriber gets a 30-day free trial; a payment method is required to start the trial, and you'll be charged the plan's price automatically when it ends unless you cancel first. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period at the then-current price. Manage or cancel any time from Settings → Billing; canceling stops future renewal but doesn't refund the current period — your household keeps access through the end of it. Prices shown don't include applicable sales tax, which Stripe may add at checkout where required. If a renewal payment fails, we follow a 7-day grace period (shown in your account's billing status) before access is affected, to allow time to update your payment method. Switching between the monthly and yearly plan is prorated automatically by Stripe.

Refunds for web subscriptions: if you're charged for a renewal you didn't mean to keep, contact us at the address in Section 17 within 7 days of that charge and we'll issue a full refund. We don't offer refunds for a renewal charge reported after that 7-day window, except where required by law.

iOS subscriptions (Apple)

Billed by Apple through your App Store account, under the terms Apple presents at purchase and its standard End User License Agreement. Lakeday's iOS products don't currently include a free trial; if Apple displays a promotional or introductory offer at checkout, its terms are whatever Apple's purchase confirmation screen states. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the current period ends, and you'll be charged for renewal within 24 hours of that period ending. Manage or cancel through your Apple ID subscription settings — Lakeday cannot cancel an App Store subscription on your behalf. Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple under Apple's own policies, not Lakeday's.

A household's access continues through the end of any period already paid for, on either platform, even after cancellation. We may change subscription pricing going forward with reasonable notice; a price change never applies retroactively to a period you've already paid for.

Use Lakeday for its intended purpose — organizing your own household. Don't:

• Use the Service for anything unlawful, or to store or transmit content you don't have the right to share.
• Try to access another household's data, or circumvent household-level data isolation.
• Interfere with the Service's normal operation — for example, by probing, scanning, or overloading it, or by circumventing rate limits.
• Reverse-engineer the apps beyond what's expressly permitted by applicable law.
• Use the forwarded-email or photo-import features to submit content you don't have the right to process, or that's abusive, deceptive, or harmful.

Your content

Your household's calendar events, tasks, meal plans, grocery lists, notes, and any recipes or photos you submit (“Your Content”) remain yours. You grant Lakeday a limited license to store, process, and display Your Content back to your household, solely to provide the Service — including sending it to the AI model and other third-party providers described in Sections 4 and 5 of the Privacy Policy where that's how a feature works. You're responsible for Your Content and for having the rights to share anything you submit.

Lakeday's intellectual property

Lakeday, its logo, and the app and website themselves (excluding Your Content and any third-party or open-source components they include) are owned by The Hyytinen Group LLC. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the apps and dashboard for your household's own personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms. Open-source components included in the apps are licensed under their own respective terms.

Feedback

If you send us suggestions or feedback about the Service, you agree we can use it without any obligation to you or restriction on our use of it.

Connecting Google Calendar, Google Photos, or another provider is optional and revocable at any time from Settings. Lakeday's calendar connections are read-only — we display what's already on a connected calendar; we never write to it. Disconnecting a source stops future syncing but doesn't remove events already imported into Lakeday.

We may suspend or terminate an account that violates Section 6, that we reasonably believe poses a security risk to other households, or where payment has lapsed beyond the grace period described in Section 5. Where reasonably possible, we'll give notice and a chance to fix the issue before termination.

Only the household's primary member can schedule deletion (Settings → “Permanently delete [household]”), and doing so affects every member of the household, not just the primary member. Every member is emailed when a deletion is scheduled. The household keeps full access for a 7-day grace period, during which the primary member can cancel the deletion from that email or from Settings. If it isn't canceled, at the end of the 7 days the account, calendar, tasks, meals, grocery list, and connected-calendar tokens are permanently deleted, and any active subscription is canceled. See the Privacy Policy, Section 6, for how backups are handled after deletion. Any household member can also ask us by email (Section 17) to delete their own account or personal information individually, without deleting the whole household.

Lakeday is provided “as is” and “as available.” We work to keep it accurate and reliable, but we don't guarantee that weather, drive-time, or flight-status information from third-party providers is always current or correct — always allow reasonable margin for time-sensitive plans, particularly travel. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lakeday won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

You agree to defend and indemnify Lakeday against third-party claims, and any resulting damages, reasonable attorneys' fees, and costs, arising from Your Content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or a third party's rights — except to the extent the claim results from Lakeday's own violation of these Terms or applicable law. We'll give you prompt notice of any such claim, and you'll have the right to control its defense and settlement, provided any settlement that admits fault by or imposes obligations on us requires our prior consent.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the state courts of Travis County, Texas, or the federal courts for the Western District of Texas, and you consent to that venue. Nothing in this section limits any consumer protection or other right that applicable law does not allow to be waived by contract.

Entire agreement

These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Lakeday about the Service, superseding any earlier agreement on the same subject.

Assignment

You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (see the Privacy Policy, Section 5).

Severability

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.

Waiver

Failing to enforce a provision isn't a waiver of our right to enforce it later.

Force majeure

Neither party is liable for a delay or failure caused by something reasonably beyond its control (e.g., a cloud-provider outage, natural disaster, or war).

Notices

We'll send notices to your account's email address; you can reach us at the address in Section 17.

Survival

Sections that by their nature should continue after your account ends (including Sections 7, 11–14) survive termination or deletion.

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. For a material change, we'll notify the household's primary member and update the effective date above before it takes effect; continued use after that date means you accept the update. A change never applies retroactively to a period you've already paid for, and where a change materially reduces your rights, we'll ask for your affirmative consent if the law requires it.
